Our service last Sunday began with Psalm 67: God be gracious to us and bless us and we sang All things praise Thee. Our preacher, Robert Williams, led our prayers beginning with one for peaceful co-existence taken from the Methodist website followed by prayers for peace in our hearts, for the bereaved, our church and minister. Norma Buckley read to us from Exodus 16, God provides for the Israelites in the desert; Hillary Johnson read from John 6, Jesus is the bread of life.
Robert then spoke of our journey through life. Each person’s experiences are different but God is always with us in good and bad times. Our plans must reflect our purpose to radiate the power of God, giving thanks and trusting in his provision and guidance. Jesus is our spiritual food, our security and guide. Everyone is important to him. Together we can learn more of God through Bible study, prayer and discussion and become reliable Christians.
Robert gave thanks and prayed for guidance before we sang Guide me O Thou great Jehovah and shared the Grace.
