At Ashley Methodist Church we celebrate and enjoy all ages being part of God’s family. From Junior Church on a Sunday morning, to our Ecumenical work with the local schools and Open the Book, we strive to share God’s good news with everyone!
Junior Church
Our Junior Church meets during Sunday morning worship on the first Sunday of each month. We enjoy worship together as a whole church family for the first twenty minutes of each service, then children can leave for more age-appropriate worship and learning. Through this the children learn more about God and living a Christian life through various different activities. There is also provision made every Sunday to support any children who attend but it will be less of a formal arrangement.
Our Junior Church members and other children who are connected to Ashley Methodist Church love to be a part of our special services each year, taking part in and leading our worship for our Nativity, Harvest, and Christingle Services.
Open the Book
Open the Book (OtB) offers primary school children an opportunity to hear key Bible stories told by a team of Christians from local churches, who present the stories during assemblies or acts of collective worship. A number of our congregation are enthusiastic team members and thoroughly enjoy visiting the Hugo Meynell and Mucklestone Primary Schools as part of the local Ecumenical team who deliver the program.
As an extension of the OtB programme the Churches in Ashley and Loggerheads are running family fun days 3 or 4 times a year which have proven to be very successful so far. Parents and children (even grandparents) alike have enjoyed crafts, games and bible stories together with the wonderful teams of volunteers who make the events possible. A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon had by all – keep your eyes peeled for information on the next one!
