On a bright sunny morning we gathered for worship led by Paul Bishop with Neil & Jill Barnett providing music on organ and keyboard. After our opening hymn, All people that on earth do dwell, Paul gave thanks in prayer for all that God provides and asked that our hearts be open to his desires for us, praying for all in need especially those suffering conflict in Ukraine and Gaza. May peace prevail.

Gerry & Margaret Maxwell read to us Psalm 1 & Romans 12 – a sermon in itself. Paul then played on guitar two songs he had composed: Keep your mind on the shepherd of the sheep & I can’t live without you.

With the recent harvest festival season in mind Paul spoke of seeds being sown in peoples’ lives by those who established our church and have preached and served here over the years. Once seeds are sown individuals have to commit to Christ themselves & then start sowing. Just as a farmer ploughs up his fields to improve yields so God stirs up his people. As we live through difficulties and turmoil our seeds will grow into a crop made beautiful when Jesus is seen in our lives. He will transform us; we must be ready. Paul prayed for our church, people and future seeds. Our service concluded with a rousing hymn – Stand up, stand up for Jesus.
