Last Sunday we held our Annual General Church Meeting after a shortened service.
Rev. Rob Cotton began our worship by saying “God declared that he would pour out his spirit on all
flesh and those who call on him will be saved.” Guy read to us from Matthew 14: Jesus feeds 5000
with five loaves and two fish.
Rob reminded us of the calling of the Methodist Church and reviewed events in the Market Drayton
circuit since his arrival last September when he cautioned us that “where there is no vision the
people perish” (Proverbs 29 v18). Under his leadership we have had a very successful Alpha course
bringing new members into church at Easter, an enjoyable and stimulating book club based on Bear
Gryll’s book, The greatest story ever told, a memorable Big Family Gathering at Tern Hill Hall as
well as regular group meetings and functions, our support of activities in our schools and
neighbourhood and he outlined plans for the future to serve, develop and nourish our community.
After prayers for our church family Rob offered Holy Communion to us all.
