Ashley Methodists joined with Market Drayton last Sunday for a circuit service, the culmination of a weekend devoted to Life in the Spirit led by a team from Aldersgate Renewal Ministries. Robin Perry headed the music group with worship songs. Kate from Aldersgate told us the story behind Charles Wesley’s hymn, O for a thousand tongues to tell, written after his faith was truly established following healing from illness.
Rachel read from Jeremiah 29, “I know the plans I have for you,” the text for Rev. David Winstanley’s sermon. He hoped that the weekend had equipped the church for its God-planned future. Without God plans falter. This church is blessed with an all age congregation. God will equip us and provide spiritual gifts for each situation. We just have to get on with it. Christian advancement is both receiving from the Lord and moving into the future. Fear not; victory is already won through the cross. David blessed the Leadership Team asking us to pray for their strength and guidance to fulfil God’s plan. People were invited to come forward for an empowering blessing and the community at Ashley was also blessed. The service concluded with My Jesus, my Saviour followed by the Grace.
